Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream review

If you follow me on instagram (@kwinniezb) or my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Quinntologist1) you would know that I posted a picture of me wearing this BB cream and I mentioned I love it.

I bought it at Chemist Warehouse for $7.99 AUD on sale in the colour medium. Before I continue I just wanted to let you guys know that I was hesitant in doing this review. I’m not comfortable in showing my bare face especially with all the blemishes that I have. However, I thought for a while and decided to do it. It may help people who are also experiencing acne problems to see if this BB cream will cover the blemishes. So here are the pictures:

Excuse my messy hair. I just woke up haha and I have no idea why my face looks weird in the photo. I have nothing on beside concealer for the under eye areas.

I have one layer applied all over the face. And I applied other thin layer over the blemishes areas. As you can see, it nearly covered all my pimples.

Did the rest of my make-up and finished at around 10 AM. I was not going to put on powder to see how well it last without being oily but I forgot and applied it.

This picture was taken at 9:30 PM which is 11.5 hours later (and the hair goes wild again) and I didn't touch up at all. My face is a bit shiny and my pimples are more noticeable.

Overall, applying this cream is super easy. It blends well into the skin with either just using your fingers or with other applications such as brushes and sponges.  It has a matte finish which is good for oily skin (and that why the packaging has a matte texture compared to their original one). I can’t tell if the 2% Salicylic Acid did anything for my pimples since I’m on antibiotics at the moment. However, when I used to use products with Salicylic Acid on a daily basis, my skin got irritated and became red. This product doesn't cause that problem which is a thumb up.

VERDICT:
4.5/5. As I mentioned before, it covers most of my pimples which is fantastic. I don’t have to add extra layer of concealer (if I do, it blocks my pores more).  Nice matte finish even though it can feel a bit sticky but a light layer of face powder can fix that. It last for a good amount of time without the need to touch up. The only thing is the price. I got it on sale so it costed $7.99 AUD but the original price is around $15-16 AUD.

  1. I've been reading so many great reviews about this bb cream! The staying power sounds amazing, considering you didn't touch up for 11.5 hours! I've been getting my bf to search high and low to find one in store for me but haven't been successful yet :( Kind of gave up because stores take too long to restock and I do have a couple of barely used bb creams in my collection.

Also, thanks for dropping by my blog! :)
