Crème Carmel Flan Recipe

Hello lovelies,

This post is going to be a non-beauty related one.  I thought it may be good for a change. A few weeks ago my cousin made some Flan and it was delicious! I tried to make it last week and it was a disaster. The Flan was rough and got tidy holes (as seen below).

I think I left it in the oven for too long and also, I was mixing methods between recipes. This time my mum gave me a recipe she found in one of her Vietnamese cooking book. As a result it’s much better than my first time and the texture is incredible. So smooth and creamy.

I just need to state that I’m no cook. I hardly cook and don’t really enjoy cooking because I have no patience. However, since I’m getting old and one day I need to live on my own, I decided I should start learning some simple dishes.

Lazy Sunday - Another mini haul

Before you guys go “what? Another haul? Thought you were trying to save money?!” Let me clarify that I didn’t spend any money; my awesome bf bought them for me.

I was watching Jodi from Goo Roo Beauty on youtube and she showed what she got at David Jones/ DJ (again for youse non Aussie, DJ is one of the biggest department store in Australia). I wanted to rush out to David Jones straightaway to buy the same things as her. She bought the Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap and I haven’t heard much about it. She also bought a beauty deluxe sampler tote which contains numerous samples.

Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick review

I bought these “lipstick” about 2 weeks ago online before I knew they were already out in Australia. The reason why I put the quotation sign on lipstick is because I don’t think it’s a lipstick but more of a glossy lip balm. I got all four available shades;

Lazy Sunday - Huge collective hauls

I have such a bad habit…..I keep on buying and buying and not save a penny. It may not be good for the pocket but hey it’s good to try new things right? Yes? Maybe? No? With all seriousness, I need to restrict myself from buying things I don’t really need.

Anyway I have been shopping for the past 2 months and I would like to share with you guys. I love reading and watching haul videos and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Before I start, I just wanted to state that I bought all these products with my hard working money. For those who don’t like reading or watching hauls, you can just simply close the window/tab.

Ok, let get started….

My current hair care

I’m not one who is big on hair care. I see beauty bloggers and youtubbers all obsessed with different hair products which make me want to go out and try as well. However, at the end of the day I have to say to myself “do I really need them?”

Lazy Sunday - What’s new

The Revlon nearly naked pressed powders and foundations have finally arrived to Australia. They have been displayed in various places for a few weeks now. Such places include, Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart and Target.

Pictures are taken from the Revlon official website

There are 12 shades for the foundation and I’m not too sure how many shades for the pressed powder. I think there are around 5? Both are the same price. Priceline are selling them for around $26 each, $23 at Chemist Warehouse, $26 at Kmart and I’m not too sure about Target.

I took a sample home and the shade 160 Fresh Beige suits my skin tone nicely. I heard that for the next Chemist Warehouse sale, they will be selling both products for $20 each. Also, Revlon launched 4 lustrous ‘liptember’ lipsticks. The colours are: Pink, Red, Coral and Berry. They will be on sale for $10 and the money goes to the Women Mental Health foundation.

Another special for the next Chemist Warehouse sale is that if you spend $30 or more you will get a gift set of two mini kissable lipbalm; Charm and Lovesick. I am planning to get the nearly naked foundation and one of the liptember lipsticks, $30 exact thus I will receive the gift set Thought I would share with my fellow Australians the good deals coming up.

AND… I will be doing a giveaway soon so follow me on bloglovin’ if you haven’t already done so if you don’t want to missed out. It will be opened internationally :D

Beside that I will be changing the layout/template of my blog. I just need to find the design I like which going to be a while. I have an instagram account so if you guys would like to follow me, it’s kwinniezb.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend xx

Avene Gentle purifying scrub review

I saw the Avene Gentle purify scrub at Chemist Warehouse and was immediately drawn to it. Not only because it’s pink but it also stated “for sensitive skin”. Hence, I instantly want to test it. I asked for a sample to take home.

I’m very picky with scrubs because my skin is sensitive and is easily irritated. You know the St Ives apricot scrub that everyone loves? I can’t even use it often because it’s too rough on my skin. I feel like I’m using sandpaper.

I got about 3-4 uses out of the sample.

Ingredient
Function/s
Avene Thermal Spring Water (69%)
Soothes and softens
Exfoliating microspheres
Eliminates impurities
Salicylic acid (Sodium salicylate, BHA)
Unclog pores and also act as a preservative
Zinc gluconate
Skin conditioner, purifies skin and reduce inflammation

I got the information from their website. For more information you can go on the link below:

VERDICT:

4.5/5. It’s extremely gentle on my skin like the name suggested and it’s has a nice light scent (which I don’t mind). I’m not sure how much it cost because the store didn’t have the price or any stock (just the tester haha). But when they do, I will definitely but it.
